Multiple OS
Discover which Operating Systems you're able to run on your server.
Every PC or server is run by an Operating System - the low-level software which interacts with the hardware equipment, including peripherals such as a mouse and a printer, along with any applications that are present on the system. Any program input using a command line or a Graphical User Interface (GUI) is processed by sending an Application Program Interface (API) request to the OS. On a server, every single app runs within the parameters established by the OS as well - priority, physical memory, processing time, etc. This goes for both standard Internet site scripts and server-side software such as a media server. In case a virtual server is generated on a physical one, there can be two different Operating Systems, named guest OS and host OS, so that you will be able to set up a different software environment on the same machine.
Multiple OS in Dedicated Servers
If you decide to buy one of our dedicated servers, you shall find three Operating Systems on the order page since we want to give you a broader choice for the system environment on your machine as different applications could have certain requirements. CentOS, Ubuntu and Debian contain different modules developed by their large support communities, so you can select each of these OSs and enjoy a reliable and secure web hosting service. Depending on your decision, you will also have different Control Panels to choose from. Needless to say, we can always replace the Operating System in case the one you have selected at first does not meet the requirements of the software that you'd like to run. We can also update the OS routinely to keep it as risk-free as possible using our Managed Services upgrade package.
